Re| Sustainability

Re|Event is dedicated to crafting an eco-conscious experience that leaves a positive mark on the environment and the Alberta community. We’re leading the charge in sustainability by carefully curating every aspect of our event to prioritize the planet.

Food and Eco-conscious Dining: Our meals feature locally sourced, organic, and seasonal produce, sourced from nearby farmers and vendors. We emphasize plant-based options and provide reusable and compostable service ware, reducing our ecological footprint.

Recycling and Reusable SWAG: Throughout the venue, clearly marked recycling stations promote responsible waste separation. Even our event giveaways, or SWAG, are reimagined: eco-friendly, reusable items crafted from sustainable materials ensure a lasting impact, both environmentally and practically.

Community Engagement and Green Initiatives: Partnering with non-profits, we champion causes related to education, diversity, conservation, and social welfare. We encourage low carbon transportation methods, like carpooling and cycling, and actively promote composting, diverting organic waste from landfills and supporting local agriculture.

At Re|Event, we’re not just organizing a conference; we’re inspiring change, raising awareness, and setting a sustainable example for future events. Join us in this mission to preserve our planet and shape a greener future. Together, we can make a significant difference.

Alberta Sustainability

The Emissions Reduction and Energy Development Plan is Alberta's strategy to strengthen its global leadership in emissions reductions, clean technology, innovation, and sustainable resource development. With 8 strategic directions, the plan focuses on collaborative efforts, clean technology, innovation, finance and policy frameworks to reduce emissions while ensuring energy security. This Alberta-centric approach marks the next chapter in the province's environmental initiatives, with ongoing evolution supported by industry, businesses, Indigenous organizations, municipalities, environmental NGOs, labor groups, and more.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At Re|Event, we champion Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as fundamental principles that shape our conference experience. We are deeply committed to fostering an environment that celebrates the richness of human diversity, including gender equity, age, economic status, and sexual orientation.

We prioritize equal representation and provide platforms for individuals of all gender identities to share their insights and expertise. Through diverse panels, workshops, and keynote speakers, we ensure a balanced representation that reflects the multifaceted experiences of our attendees.

Economic status should never hinder access to knowledge. We offer discounted or even free attendance though our partners and sponsors and we encourage you to reach out to take advantage of these various ticket options, and accessible pricing structures. Our aim is to ensure that everyone, regardless of their economic status, can engage in enlightening conversations, gain knowledge, and network effectively.

We proudly support individuals of all sexual orientations. Our conference is a safe space where attendees can express themselves freely, share their experiences, and contribute to the conversations. We actively promote an atmosphere of respect and acceptance, where everyone feels valued and empowered.

At Re|Event, we believe that the power of knowledge transcends all boundaries. By embracing and celebrating diversity in its many forms, we enrich our collective understanding and re-create a vibrant community where everyone feels welcomed, respected, and included. Join us in this journey toward a more inclusive future, where every voice is heard, and every individual is valued.

Sustainability commitment

At Re|Event, we are committed to creating a sustainable experience that leaves a positive impact on the environment and the Alberta community. Our dedication to sustainability extends across all aspects of our event and we invite you to think sustainability.

  • Food: We prioritize locally sourced, organic, and seasonal produce for our meals. By partnering with local farmers and vendors, we aim to reduce our carbon footprint and support the regional economy. Our offerings are designed with sustainability in mind, emphasizing plant-based options to minimize our environmental impact. Furthermore, our commitment to eco-consciousness extends to the materials used during the event. Join in by selecting reusable and compostable service ware for meals.
  • Recycling: We implement a comprehensive recycling program throughout the conference venue. Clearly marked recycling stations are strategically placed to encourage attendees to separate their waste responsibly.
  • Stuff We All Get (SWAG): We’ve re-imagined traditional event giveaways by opting for eco-friendly, reusable items made from sustainable materials. Re|Event SWAG bags focuses on products designed for longevity and practicality, ensuring they serve a purpose long after the conference concludes.
  • Charitable Initiatives: Supporting our community is at the heart of our conference. We are, and we collaborate with non-profit organizations who help us support and promote education, diversity, conservation, and social welfare. By forming these partnerships, we actively pursue positive social change.
  • Low Carbon Transportation: We promote the use of low carbon transportation options among our attendees. By scheduling this event during the beautiful Alberta summer, we hope to encourage carpooling, ride sharing, cycling, and the use of public transport. Additionally, we’re happy to provide information about eco-friendly transportation alternatives to raise awareness about sustainable commuting choices.
  • Composting: Our commitment to composting helps divert organic waste from landfills, reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Compostable materials used during the conference, such as food scraps and biodegradable utensils, are collected and sent to local composting facilities. This process transforms compost into valuable planting soil and supporting local agriculture. https://www.calgary.ca/waste/residential/green-cart-compost-giveaway.html
